The Carer Centre Clubhouse full range of clubs, courses, groups and events which are free to Carers who are registered with us.
The Carer Clubhouse is situated at Fishwick House, Cotham Street, WA10 1SJ and can be found opposite from St Helens Town Hall.

Many of our events need a pre booking, if this is the case you can book on by pressing the button below each event and we will confirm your place within a few days. Sometimes we have last minute cancellations, so you can always telephone us on the day to see if there is a place available.

Carers Tea & Toast - Tuesday 12th August 2025: between 10am and 12noon
Our weekly Tea n Toast sessions are for Carers to drop in with other Carers have a natter and offload. These friendly sessions allow you to make contacts with other Carers and relax for an hour or two and have a cuppa and toast and a laugh. No need to book, just drop in anytime between 10am and 12 noon..

Memory Loss Support Group Tuesday - 12th August 2025: 1.00pm – 3.00pm
If you care for someone with memory loss, come along and meet with our support worker and other Carers in a similar situation for a relaxed catch up, some information a chat and a cuppa. No need to book.

Former Carers Group - Friday 15th August 2025: 10am – 12 Noon
This Group provides support and a social environment for Carers who have ended their caring responsiblilities in whatever circumstances. Come along and enjoy a chat and a cuppa in The Clubhouse with like-minded others while taking care of your own wellbeing and health. No need to book on this informal Group session.

Carers Guitar Group - Friday 15th August – 1.30pm-3.00pm
Whether you are a fully fledged player or an absolute beginner, guitar, ukulele, banjo or whatever. This group is for you. Its a relaxed Friday mid afternoon group, with a cuppa, and sounds! All carers welcome to this friendly group which meets weekly.

Indian Head Massage Course - Monday 18th August 2025: 10am-12noon
This short course will show you how oils can holistically help you to relax and unwind, much needed for our Carers and promote your wellbeing. This session is delivered by Kate one of our qualified Therapists.

Games Afternoon With Carole - Tuesday 19th August 2025: 1pm-3pm
Come along and join other Carers in a fun afternoon in the clubhouse. There will be pool, table tennis, draughts, chess, dominoes and even Pac man machines. Enjoy this relaxed session.

Uplifting Foot & Leg Therapy Course : Tuesday 19th August : 5.30pm-7.30pm
This early evening session in a relaxing setting will show you techniques of Foot & Leg therapy that will benefit circulation to improve long term physical wellbeing. Enjoy a chat and a cuppa with other Carers.

Book Binding - Wednesday 20th August: 10am-12noon
Come and have fun with other Carers on this book binding workshop. All materials are supplied, and you will be able to make some ideal gifts just in time for the Children or Grandchildren going back to school or for Family and Friends. Enjoy a cuppa on this relaxing session.

Mental Health Awareness : Wednesday 27th August 10am-1pm
This course is designed to give Carers & Family members a general understanding of some of the different mental health conditions that a person could experience. It also aims to help Carers develop positive strategies to support the person they care for whilst also maintaining their own wellbeing.

Tai Chi - Wednesday 27th August: 1-3pm
An introduction to Tai-Chi with a practical demonstration from our Qualified Tutor, Heather. This can be done either sitting or standing and will end with a warm down. Casual clothing should be worn for this session.

Summer Jewellery - Thursday 28th August : 10am-12noon
Create your own Jewellery with the help of our Tutor, Doris. You will be shown how to make your very own personalised item which you can then take home with you. No skills are required for this session just come along and enjoy a cuppa with other Carers.

Wills, Probate & Lasting Power Of Attorney - Monday 1st September - 10am-1.30pm
This session is delivered by St Helens Law. You will receive useful information on the above subjects and be able to discuss matters with a qualified member of Staff on the day. A light lunch is provided on this session.

Reiki - Monday 1st September : 5.30pm-7.30pm
Come along to this Group session and experience what Reiki is, the meaning of how it works and its benefits. Our qualified Tutor Jan will demonstrate how it can balance areas in the body while increasing energy levels. Reiki can also be used as a complimentary therapy.

Mental Health - Strengthening Family Relationships 4 sessions course: Mondays 8th, 15th,22nd & 29th September : 10am-12noon
This 4-session course aims to support Carers of those with sever, long term mental health conditions to understand and develop relationships to support their caring role. It focuses on increasing the understanding and developing of positive support strategies as well as recognising their needs and supporting their own wellbeing as Carers.

iPads & Tablets: Join our 4-week course about learning basic device security, using touch screens and on-screen keyboards, exploring mobile browsers and web addresses. Find and install useful apps to help you get the most from your device

Bottle Painting - Thursday 11th September 2025 : 10am-1pm
Join other Carers while learning the art of Bottle Painting, a session that is run by one of our own very talented Carers, Kath. She will show you how to transform a bottle into something unique that would make a lovely gift for a Family member or Friend. All materials supplied by us.

Emergency First Aid - Friday 12th September: 10am-11.30am
Would you know what to do if someone stopped breathing, had a stroke, or began to choke? Would you know how to use a defibrillator? This short interactive fun workshop shows you what to do in various emergency situations. This course shouldn’t be missed as you could save someone life. The training is delivered by Carmel who is a qualified member of The Red Cross. Comfortable and loose clothing is recommended for this session.

Our Parent Carer sessions ar eback following the sumemr break! These sessions take place on the last Thursday of the month. Come along and find out more about the services that can support you and your Family. The sessions are informal and a great opportunity for you to meet other Parent Carers.

Animal Assisted Therapy Session - Mental Health Support
to provide a relaxing, mindful, calm encounter which can increase social interactions, provide comfort and calmness, The presence of animals can prompt the body to release our ‘happy hormones’. This
generates relaxation and is great for stress reduction. Interactions
with different types of animals help to support good mental health, boost confidence, reduce stress and anxiety. Animal assisted therapy
has been shown to significantly reduce feelings of hopelessness and have a positive impact on a persons growth and healing.
