The Carer Centre Clubhouse full range of clubs, courses, groups and events which are free to Carers who are registered with us.
The Carer Clubhouse is situated at Fishwick House, Cotham Street, WA10 1SJ and can be found opposite from St Helens Town Hall.

Many of our events need a pre booking, if this is the case you can book on by pressing the button below each event and we will confirm your place within a few days. Sometimes we have last minute cancellations, so you can always telephone us on the day to see if there is a place available.

Universal Credit Clinic Drop In - Friday 6th June - 9.45am-1pm Held At Main Carers Centre (31-35 Baldwin Street)
Do you need support or advice around Universal Credit? If you are a Carer and need help with Universal Credit including digital support, just drop in between 10am – 1pm on any Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) to our Carer Clubhouse. No need to book an appointment-just turn up. We can help with Advice and UC calculations, check your awards, payments and to do list, change in circumstances, digital support and new claims. This clinic is now held at the Main Carer Centre at 31-35 Baldwin Street.

Our weekly Tea n Toast sessions are for Carers to drop in with other Carers have a natter and offload. These friendly sessions allow you to make contacts with other Carers and relax for an hour or two and have a cuppa and toast and a laugh. No need to book, just drop in anytime between 10am and 12 noon.

Memory Loss Support Group Tuesday 10th June 2025: 1pm – 3pm
If you care for someone with Dementia, come along and meet with our support worker and other Carers in a similar situation for a relaxed catch up, some information a chat and a cuppa. No need to book. This group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

CARERS WEEK : Conwy & Conwy Castle Coach Trip - Wednesday 11th June - 9.30am - 5pm
Join us for a free day break away with coaches departing our Carers Clubhouse at 10am prompt. On arrival at Conwy in North Wales you can enjoy all what the town has to offer, soak up the sun, visit the smallest house in Britain or enjoy free entry into the amazing Conwy Castle! Coaches depart Conwy at 3pm for our journey back to St Helens. This event is strictly limited in numbers and only open to registered Carers. If you require respite to be able to attend , please do let us know and we will do all we can to assist. This is a bookable only event

Carers Information Day - Thursday 12th June - 10am-3pm
Over 30 different agencies will be on hand to give you information and advice with your caring role and their services - this event will take place at St Helens Town Hall opposite the Csrers Clubhouse - no need to book! The Clubhouse will also be open for refreshments.

CARERS WEEK : Carers Week Karaoke Night - Thursday 12th June from 6.30pm - 9.30pm
Come and join the fun, even if you can't sing! There will be quite a lots of cats joining us as we belt out some tunes. With free refreshments all registered Carers are welcome but you must book in advance.

Come and join our 4-week course about learning basic device security, using touch screens and on-screen keyboards, exploring mobile browsers and web addresses. Find and install useful apps to help you get the most from your device. You MUST book in advance

Come along and learn what Journalling is and how it can help you to relax and unwind. Over the 3 Sessions you will build a personalised journal by choosing from activities and methods. We will explore different journalling types and techniques that can help wellbeing and daily life. You MUST book in advance.

Upcycling Birdfeeders Wednesday 18th June 2025: 1pm – 3pm
Come along and join Deb & Sue our talented Craft Tutors and make your own Upcycled Birdfeeder. No experience necessary and all materials are provided by us; all you have to do is come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon and take your finished product home. You Must book in advance

First Aid - Thursday 19th June 2025: 10.30am - 12 Noon
Would you know what to do if someone stopped breathing, had a stroke, or began to choke? Would you know how to use a defibrillator? This short interactive fun workshop shows you what to do in various emergency situations. This course shouldn’t be missed as you could save someone life. The training is delivered by Carmel who is a qualified member of The Red Cross. Comfortable and loose clothing is recommended for this session. You must book a place to attend.

3 Week Dementia Awareness Course: Monday 14th, 21st & 28th July 2025: 10.30am - 1pm
Week 1 - Dementia Awareness Questions & Answers session on symptoms.
.Week 2 - Communication & Dementia with practical tips on how to communicate with a person living with Dementia and how to recognise when change is needed to support the person with their changing needs.
Week 3 -Including why it is important for the person living with dementia to be occupied and how we can make life better for the people living with Dementia.

Tai Chi Taster Session - Wednesday –30th July 2025: 1pm – 3pm
An introduction to Tai-Chi with a practical demonstration from our Qualified Tutor, Heather. This can be done either sitting or standing and will end with a warm down. Casual clothing should be worn for this session. You Must Book In Advance
