The Carer Centre Clubhouse full range of clubs, courses, groups and events which are free to Carers who are registered with us.
The Carer Clubhouse is situated at Fishwick House, Cotham Street, WA10 1SJ and can be found opposite from St Helens Town Hall.

Many of our events need a pre booking, if this is the case you can book on by pressing the button below each event and we will confirm your place within a few days. Sometimes we have last minute cancellations, so you can always telephone us on the day to see if there is a place available.

Introduction to British Sign Language – Monday 2nd March 2026: 10am – 12 noon
Have you ever seen people using Sign Language and thought ' I'd love to be able to do that'? Then this taster session is a great place to start. You will learn about British Sign Language and gain some signing skills whilst having lots of fun. No previous experience necessary, just an interest and a willingness to have a go.
Those who attend who wish to continue their learning will have the opportunity to attend a further short course of sessions to develop their skills and knowledge.

If you are a crafty person or want to get started whether its knitting, decoupage, card making or something else this friendly Group is for you. Have a cuppa and a chat but more importantly fun. We have materials too or you can bring your own. No experience needed and no need to book.

Stress Management - Tuesday 3rd March 2026: 1.30pm - 3.30pm
Feeling overwhelmed by the number of demands placed upon you? Often being a Carer can feel like you’re ’juggling’ too many things at once. This can lead to stress which can often bring about many different emotions. The interactive course will enable you to explore coping strategies and learn how to deal with situations in a more controlled manner.

IPad, Tablets & Smartphones - Wednesday 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th March 2026: 10am – 12 Noon
iPads & Tablets: Join our 4-week course about learning basic device security, using touch screens and on-screen keyboards, exploring mobile browsers and web addresses. Find and install useful apps to help you get the most from your device

Nat West 5 Ways to Financial Wellbeing Thursday 5th March 2026: 10am –12 Noon
This session will guide you through practical steps to help you manage your budgeting, along with an overview of different budgeting methods.
We’ll explore savings goals, strategies for planning meaningful moments, how to prepare for the unexpected, and tips for managing financial challenges.
You do not need to be a NatWest customer to attend this informative session.
Mandy and Sharron will also be available to answer any questions you may have about banking or money matters.

Do you need a Welfare Benefits check or have any questions about the welfare or disability benefits the person you care for is receiving or may be entitled to? Drop in on one of these special days without an appointment. Alternatively, you can call us on 01744 675 615 to book a telephone appointment at a more convenient time. If you care for someone with Memory Loss, our friendly and informal group is a chance for you to speak with other carers in a similar situation over a tea/coffee. A member of our Wellbeing team will be there to provide information and support. No need to book

Tai Chi - Wednesday 11th March 2026: 1pm – 3pm
An introduction to Tai-Chi with a practical demonstration from our Qualified Tutor, Heather. This can be done either sitting or standing and will end with a warm down. Casual clothing should be worn for this session.

The Young Adult Carers Social Group is a relaxed, friendly space for young people who support a family member or friend. It’s a place to unwind, meet others who “get it,” and take a break from the pressures of caring. Whether you’re looking for support, new friends, or just a bit of time for yourself, you’re welcome here. There’s no pressure to share anything personal—just come as you are.

Reiki with Jan - Monday 16th March 2026: 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Come along to this Group session and experience what Reiki is, the meaning of how it works and its benefits. Our qualified Tutor Jan will demonstrate how it can balance areas in the body while increasing energy levels. Reiki can also be used as a complimentary therapy.

Join other Carers while learning the art of Bottle Painting, a session that is run by one of our own incredibly talented Carers, Kath. She will show you how to transform a bottle into something unique that would make a lovely gift for a Family member or Friend. All materials supplied by us.

Join our monthly Parent Carer Wellbeing Group — a welcoming space for parent carers to connect, share experiences, and access support. Caring for a child with additional needs can be both rewarding and challenging, and this group offers time to meet others who understand your journey. What’s included:

-information about local services and support
-opportunities to create personalised visual supports for your home
-time to speak with our Parent Carer Wellbeing Officer.

St Helens Wellbeing Team - Monday 30th March 2026: 10am – 12 Noon
Come along and board the Wellbeing Bus which will be situated at the Clubhouse to discuss your Health and Wellbeing with the St Helens Wellbeing Team either in a Group situation or one to one, private and confidentially. You can discuss anything from blood pressure checks to concerns over diabetes, how to eat more healthily or for those who require it advice on exercise. This will be a very informal but informative session, and everyone is welcome.

Miniature Easter Crafts - Wednesday 1st April 2026: 10am - 12noon
Recreate your own Miniature Easter memories with Nicola as she demonstrates how to do it in miniature form. No materials are required as we provide them all for you to produce a unique Easter keepsake which you can then take home to treasure.

Come along and join other Carers in this fun 2-week course. It is delivered by a fully qualified trainer and everyone is welcome - even if you’ve never tried boxercise before. All you have to bring is yourself. Casual clothing is recommended for these sessions.

Wellbeing Workshop with Adult Community Learning - Wednesday 15th April 2026: 10am – 12 Noon
This awareness workshop is suitable for anyone who would like an understanding of ways to wellbeing and how it can enhance daily life. You will learn about the five ways to wellbeing, simple things we can all do to help support your mental wellbeing. Whether you're looking to connect with others, try something new, or take time for yourself, this workshop is a great place to start. At the end of the session, you will have gained awareness of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and how these can help to improve your confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.

Monochrome Painting Advanced - Tuesday 21st April 2026: 1pm – 3pm
If you have already completed the Monochrome for Beginners, then this session is ideal for you to extend the knowledge gained in the first session to take it that step further so it is advised that you complete the first one before booking on this. You will be guided step by step by one of our talented Carers, Doris, and you will be surprised what you can achieve under her expert guidance.

Journalling - Wednesday 22nd, 29th April & 6th May 2026: 10.00am - 12 Noon
This is an introductory course for adults who want to improve their Wellbeing through journalling. These 3 sessions include exploring how journalling, which is a form of recording your individual expression or thoughts can help with your daily Wellbeing. There will be practice tips and starting points in how to create your own personalised individual journal. At the end of the course, you will have gained knowledge of the different journal types and practices and how these can help to improve your confidence, resilience, and all-round wellbeing.

Time For You with Tracey - Friday 24th April 2026: 10am – 12 Noon
This session covers both relaxation and mindfulness awareness i.e. colour therapy, sound therapy & basic crystal therapy. Every course is slightly different, so it doesn't matter if you haven't attended one before. Each session is delivered by Tracey one of our qualified Tutors who will show you the benefits in your caring role of making 'time for you’.

BSL with Maggie - Monday 27th April, 11th & 18th May 2026: 10am – 12 Noon
For those who attended the Taster Session who want to learn more, these sessions will develop some basic signing skills and awareness of communicating with Deaf people and those who are hard of hearing or have hearing loss. All done through fun activities including signing to songs.

First Aid with The Red Cross – Thursday 30th April 2026: 1pm – 2:15pm
Would you know what to do if someone stopped breathing, had a stroke, or began to choke? Would you know how to use a defibrillator? This short interactive fun workshop shows you what to do in various emergency situations. This course shouldn’t be missed as you could save someone life. The training is delivered by Carmel who is a qualified member of The Red Cross. Comfortable and loose clothing is recommended for this session.
